Investigating
British Columbia has adopted permanent year-round daylight saving time (Pacific Time), with the change scheduled to take effect on November 1. We recognize that some community members may have questions about the impact on calendars, devices, and scheduled meetings.
UBC IT is actively working with Microsoft and Apple to coordinate the required time zone updates for computers, mobile devices, and calendaring services. We anticipate updates from our vendors will begin rolling out next week.
UBC IT plans to provide detailed guidance by October 16 outlining what to expect and any actions that may be required. Thank you for your patience as we work to ensure a smooth transition.
